Case Study - Receiving Free to Air French TV Channels from Atlantic Bird 5W for distribution on an IPTV network.
Croft was asked by a university to broadcast French FTA channels on their existing IPTV network.
Initially the proposal was straight forward, convert DVB-S2 TV channels to UDP IPTV channels and broadcast over an existing Exterity IPTV network, until we realised that their was no receiving equipment available on the market for receiving MIS (multi Input Stream) with a PLS type of GOLD, let alone professional tuners for use in an IPTV server.
The solution? We built our own!
We supplied an IPTV server capable of receiving all 3 free to air MIS streams from Atlantic Bird. The university now have the following French Channels back on their IPTV network.

All these channels are being received FTA from Atlantic Bird 5W on frequency 11509 from the following streams -
11509 H PLS Gold - 50416 Stream 1
11509 H PLS Gold - 50416 Stream 4
11509 H PLS Gold - 50416 Stream 6
